Below you will find prayer services and guides (with accompanying audio/visual resources and materials) that we hope will help guide you in your prayer time. Feel free to use these materials as often as you would like for yourself, with your family, your friends, neighbors, as well as your congregation.
1-1-1 Daily Prayer
Please join us each day as we pray for the process of selecting a new bishop for our diocese.
Searching for a new bishop may be a source of sorrow or pain. This service of lament invites the diocese to bring to Jesus, in prayer, any sense of sorrow, disappointment, or pain from the past that we may have so that we might find healing and forgiveness. These prayers are designed to allow us to lament losses and griefs before we can clearly discern with a clean heart.
Morning/Evening Prayer A Service of Prayer for the Discernment of a New Bishop
Composed by The Rev. Dr. Leslie Fairfield
This service is designed for use in congregations during the search for a new bishop in the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes, either in place of Morning or Evening Prayer or as a distinct service.
This prayer exercise is designed to assist an individual or a group in quieting the mind and spirit in order to better discern the "voice" of the Holy Spirit as He speaks through scripture. At the conclusion of the exercise, if a name or a face has come to mind as a potential nominee for bishop, please refer to the instructions at the bottom of the New Bishop Search webpage for submitting a name for the search process: ---> Click here to view instructions (scroll to bottom of page)!
