Misconduct Prevention and Reporting -

Diocesan Response Team

The Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes is committed to making our churches and Diocese a safe place for all persons.  The ADGL Diocesan Response Team endeavors to create a confidential and professional process for complaints of suspected misconduct.  The Response Team exists due to a desire for creating and maintaining a trustworthy, safe, and loving church.

The Canons of our church, both provincial and diocesan, provide clear expectations and guidance for the conduct and discipling of our clergy.  ADGL clergy have updated background checks and completed required conduct training, including “Guard your Heart.” This training program is to prevent sexual misconduct among Christian leaders.  ADGL takes seriously the responsibility of leadership, ordained and lay, to uphold standards of Christian ethics to care for all of God’s creation, especially the vulnerable.  This responsibility is the provenance of the Diocesan Response Team.

Report an Incident

Under the leadership of Bishop Engel, ADGL is currently developing a Safeguarding partnership with ACNA sister dioceses  To report a misconduct incident or make a complaint, email ResponseTeam@adgl.us.  The intake office will ensure proper guidelines are followed and laws are abided, in order to safeguard all parties involved.  The intake office will provide the complainant with guidance and next steps.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact the ADGL Diocesan Response Team Lead, Rev. Canon Carrie Klukas at ResponseTeam@adgl.us.
