Mission Conference and Synod 2025
God has poured out the power of the Holy Spirit upon His Church that we might be His witnesses “...to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) This conviction is enshrined in our Provincial Constitution and Canons when we state that our singular mission is “...to extend the Kingdom of God by so presenting Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit that people everywhere will come to put their trust in God through Him, know Him as Savior and serve Him as Lord in the fellowship of the Church.” We have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to be “Gospellers”, those who proclaim the Good News of God’s saving purpose through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. This proclamation is to our present generation for the sake of the generations to come!
ADGL Mission Conference 2025 will convene October 23-25 at His Church Anglican in Livonia, MI focused on the theme “Tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord.” From our pre-conference Clergy Day on Thursday throughout our Friday and Saturday general sessions and breakouts, we will seek to grow in our vision, commitment, and ability bear witness to the Gospel from generation to generation. Plenary speakers including Dr. Alex Foglemen (Trinity Anglican Seminary) will highlight our theme and the Children of the Liturgy sessions will give hands-on equipping for those working with our next generation.
This will prove to be an exciting time together in the life of our Diocese. We will be strengthened in our life together through worship in Word and Sacrament and in rich fellowship. We will ordain postulants to the Sacred order of Deacons, welcome new congregations into our midst, renew long-standing relationships, and conduct our Synod business including the beginning of our search for a Bishop Coadjutor with a vision for Gospel witness for years to come. Be sure to register early and encourage others to join in as well.
Please pray with me:
“O God, by your grace you have called us in the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes
to be a good and godly fellowship of faith. Bless our Bishops, and other clergy,
and all our people. Grant that your Word may be truly preached and truly heard,
your Sacraments faithfully administered and faithfully received. By your Spirit,
fashion our lives according to the example of your Son, and grant that we may
show the power of your love to all among whom we live [and the generations to come];
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
Your servant for Jesus’ sake,
+Mark
Bishop Mark
